Thursday Thoughts 5/5/2011

  • I survived the breast surgery...Yippeee!
  • I don't know what they gave me as anethesia but I was "loopy" for three days!
  • Today was the first day I could shower...thanks, I needed that.
  • Today was the first time I took off my bra since the surgery...OUCH. I don't want to do that again soon.
  • I had an allergic reaction at the hospital and at home. I almost scratched my skin off.
  • Thank goodness for Benadryl.
  • The drugs they had me on made my knee feel fantastic. No pain.
  • The orthopedic surgeon doesn't want me to have knee replacement for 6 months to a years.
  • Says I've already been under the knife twice this year. Okay....and???
  • Says we are going to throw the kitchen sink at it until that time.
  • I have to go to physical therapy for my knee.
  • I might be able to start back exercising around the first of June.
  • I gained 2.5 lbs last week. WTH.
  • My mom and I are fast becoming the best of friends.
  • She was here Sun-Tues and is coming back for Fri-Sun.
  • I'm still not driving. It hurts my breast.
  • My mom's driving scares the crap out of me.
  • Why is a 77-year-old woman doing wide pimp turns and speeding?

  1. You gotta watch em older ladies. 70 is the new 50! Driving hurts your breast? Really? How so? I know, I'm freakishly curious.

  3. I'm glad to hear that you are home, recovering and doing well from the surgery. Thanks for the laugh...I got a visual of your Mom doing pimp turns and speeding and almost fell off my chair laughing!

  4. Lol at pimp turning momma! My 70 + auntie drives so freakishly slow you fear a car is going to come up from behind and crush you like a monster truck. I am glad the surgery was a success. I can imagine that turning the wheel pulls on muscles in the breast we didn't even know we had. I hope your recovery continues to go well.

  9. Sooo glad you continue to work through all the challenges put before you...You are an inspiration and I am constantly motivated to face my own pitfalls with the same spirit and energy you radiate...
You are blessed to have your mother near enough to help you in recovery...but, at her expense I had a hearty laugh as I read your description of her 'pimp turns!' Priceless! I'll carry this smile all day!...
    Thank you!...
