Cutting Table Roll Call

I didn't get to post this on Saturday but I suddenly got sic and had a 105 temperature. I'm so weak I'm using a walker! I am starting to feel better but I can only get out of bed for short periods of time. My doctors says I should start feeling better in the next 48 hours. So without further ado this is wat my cutting table look like.

The fabric is a Nanette Lepore cotton lace. The pattern is McCalls 6566.

If you look closely you can see my Bra Makers Supply manual. The bra still isn't finished because I ran out of elastic strapping. It's be ordered so now it's just a waiting game. This is how much I have done.

I think I've maxed out my time for being out bed. I'll be back soon.

Saturday Morning Cutting Table Role Call

The Tell Tale Tasha started a post last week and I thought I'd pick it up for this week. Here's what my cutting table looks like this morning.

In my defense, the big blue storage container keeps all of my bra-making supplies together. I haven't made a bra in a while and have decided that should be my next project. What does your table look like to today and what do you have planned sewing-wise?

Vogue 8710

I've been in the mood for some boho, artsy-fartsy tops and the Tilton's (Katherine and Marcy) patterns fit the bill. This one is by Katherine Tilton.

Pattern Description:
Katherine Tilton semi-fitted, pullover top.

Pattern Sizing:
XS-XXL (4-26)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Exactly

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I'm in an artsy-fartsy mood and the Tilton's patterns are all that.
Fabric Used:
ITY Jersey that's been in my stash forever!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made an FBA but didn't raise the armhole. I had to go back in and add a piece to raise the armhole. It worked like a charm. I wanted a 3/4 length sleeve so took several inches off the sleeve pattern piece. The sleeve must be especially long because the sleeve is a perfect fit for a regular sleeve.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No sure because it has a maternity top feel. Would be a great maternity top. Not necessarily a look I want a lot of!

Time to move on to the next proje

Saturday Morning Cutting Table Roll Call

Started by The Tell Tale Tasha and picked up by Faye's Sewing Adventures here's the status of my cutting table.

This actually isn't too bad for me but I do have a pile of crap on top of a box that is on top of the wastebasket...YIKES! What's the status of your cutting table today?? Let me look at it. LOL

Vogue 1315

This isn't the first time I've made this dress. I made it one other time and wasn't totally happy with the results. I did pull it out recently and wasn't totally unsatisfied with the results. I especially liked the pockets and decided to give it another try but with a few alterations.

Unfortunately I've gained some weight (darned steroids) but I didn't need any width adjustments. I absolutely wanted to add more length. I'd already added 4" to the skirt length but decided to add an additional 4". After checking the pattern pieces they indicated that the dress top should be "bloused." Is it just me or do you not see in blousing on the model? Although I had already made an FBA on the bodice pieces, I added an additional 2" in length to it. All total I've added 10" to this dress? That's absolutely ludicrous! Although assembling the pockets still has me perplexed the end result was worth it.

As soon as I'm up to braving the cold, I'll get some photos with me wearing it!
