The Wedding is Over...Good Riddance

The wedding is over and good riddance. How does anybody survive a big wedding? My was very small and I barely survived it. I'll try to get this post short while at the same time giving you all the info. First the groom stayed out all night partying his last night of bachelorhood and was last getting to my house. I didn't get dressed because I would have been too upset. When he did finally arrive to get dressed I wasn't in the best of moods. My sister-in-law arrived to help me get ready with my mother in tow. Although I love my mom to death I wasn't in the mood for her shenanigans. Luckily the groom and other family members left for church service. I was late getting to the church and everyone wss worried that I wouldn't show! Photographer was really freaking out. After I got dressed, at break neck speed, I bent down to pick some of my crap off of the floor and my !@##$$ zipper split. Someone had safety pins but no needle and thread or scissors. Someone did have acrylic nail clippers. I was able to get the zipper back together but was afraid to breathe for the rest of the ceremony or at dinner! In all, other than the dress fiasco, it was a wonderful and intimate ceremony. BTW I forgot to take my camera so don't have a single picture of me and my husband together! I'll post some better pictures when the photographer gets them to me.

  6. Isn't that just the way it is when you plan something to be just a certain way, it never works out the way you meant, but it does work out. There were numerous things that didn't go the way we planned for any of my 3 daughters' weddings, but they're married and that's all that matters.
I don't remember if everything went as planned for mine or not. It was almost 37 years ago. It was way simpler than our daughters' were.
    You look gorgeous!!!

  12. I'm glad to know that someone else saw the humor in our two toilet problem. Right now they are in the back yard where they can't be seen. My husband is going to haul them away when he's through with some more work he's doing.

  14. Isn't there a saying about difficulties at the wedding means smooth sailing in the marriage??? If not, we'll just make one up, right? I met you during your knitting machine days when I fell in love with your knitted houndstooth pant suit. I'm happy for you and I hope that sewing room is going to be showcased here soon :)

  19. You look beautiful and the dress is perfect. I tried not to laugh as I read of all that happened. See, this is where sitcoms get their material; from these real situations. I'm happy everything turned out and I look forward to seeing the final photographs.
