Project Wedding Dress Part II

Today did not start out well. I woke up with a migrane--a side effect of the radiation treatment. After taking my meds I went back to bed and didn't get up until after 2 p.m. I only got up then because I had to do some work on my dress. Before calling it quits last night I went to JoAnn's and picked up some boning. I've decided to put it in the front and back midriff and the side seams.

Today I put the invisible zipper in. For some reason I can't find my second invisible zipper foot so had to resort to using the regular zipper foot because I hate the Coats & Clarks one that I was able to find! If I must say so myself the zipper looks fantastic. I got skills and I know it...LOL
I was also able to fix the front overlay. I forgot that when I altered the overlay piece that I needed to make a wedge alteration to allow more room on the center front.
That simple alteration brought the overlay more in line with where it should be.
View from the front with bodice attached
Sneak peek of front. The skirt is only pinned in place. I hope to sew the side seams tomorrow after work. Stay tuned!

  7. This is going to be one FINE looking dress, lady. Oh yeah, I got a picture of Emory in her dress on my latest blog. It's the close up of her looking up. It only shows the top of the dress, but she looked so adorable in that photo that I had to post it rather than a full length. I hope you like it. I'm so sorry that you are still having health issues. I sure hope that all goes away soon.
