Vogue 8710

I've been in the mood for some boho, artsy-fartsy tops and the Tilton's (Katherine and Marcy) patterns fit the bill. This one is by Katherine Tilton.

Pattern Description:
Katherine Tilton semi-fitted, pullover top.

Pattern Sizing:
XS-XXL (4-26)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Exactly

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I'm in an artsy-fartsy mood and the Tilton's patterns are all that.
Fabric Used:
ITY Jersey that's been in my stash forever!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made an FBA but didn't raise the armhole. I had to go back in and add a piece to raise the armhole. It worked like a charm. I wanted a 3/4 length sleeve so took several inches off the sleeve pattern piece. The sleeve must be especially long because the sleeve is a perfect fit for a regular sleeve.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No sure because it has a maternity top feel. Would be a great maternity top. Not necessarily a look I want a lot of!

Time to move on to the next proje

    1. Faye I wore it for a few hours yesterday. It passed the wearability test with flying colors.

  3. Maternity feel or not, yours looks great.

  4. I know what you mean about maternity. I made this, too, and had to take in miles on the sides. I also had a terrible time easing the sleeve into the armhole - way too much fabric, especially for a T shirt.

    1. I wore it for a couple of hours and it passed the wearability test with flying colors. I paired it with a refashioned leather skirt and it didn't look maternity at all. I guess I just need to give it a chance.
