Choir Robe

I finally hemmed Butterick 5522. Prior to hemming it, I didn't particularly like it. My husband even commented that it looked like a choir robe! Not quite the look I was going for but I think he was right. With styling of jewelry, makeup, shoes and hair I like it a lot better.

I'm still in search of a good place to take photos since the weather has turned cold. I can't seem to get good photos inside and I don't like the look of fooling around with the exposure with photo editing software. The garage, with the door open, seems to be the best. Might need to rearrange a few things but I think it'll work.

Now that this dress is fiinished I can work on the pants refashion. My crafting is all over the place right now. I've been working on cards, I machine knit a blanket (which I forgot to phototgraph) finished up the dress and have a class to teach tonight at Joann's. There are not enough hours in a day!

  1. You look great in the photos and I hope your knee is doing better! But these types of dresses never look good until they are fancied up...you did a great job of fancying it up! :)

  2. Ooh it does look like a robe. But if I saw a choir with snazzy robes like that, I'd join.

  3. Nothing robe like with the styling you did! I think you look fabulous, esepcially with the length you chose and the shoes, jewelry, and hair.

  10. I guess I'm partial because I have one too...but I don't think it looks like a choir robe!! Maybe he thinks that because of the shape of the sleeve. I love the color, fantastic work! You look awesome, and I hope your knee is doing better.

  11. I love that dress, and really, it doesn't look choir-ish at all to me. I have that pattern, and intend to make it in black and white. I think it looks fabulous.

  13. I must admit this pattern never piqued my interest but yours looks great, it DOES NOT look like a choir robe but a very stylish, nicely accessorized dress.

  14. I agree, not a choir robe in sight. I saw the designer version at work a few weeks ago and again, no choir robe. Your version looks fantastic. I love it!
