What's your favorite thing(s) to sew?

I know that Carolyn at Diary of a Sewing Fanatic loves to make dresses. For me it's twinsets and jackets. I love them because working in the male dominated automotive business, a jacket is the most powerful garment a woman can wear and I was, and still am, all about being taken seriously. In my opinion a twinset offers a more casual option while still being a jacket. What is it that you love to sew and why? For the fourth day in a row, I'm in a twinset--McCall's 5671!

  2. If you've ever read my blog you know I'm a jacket freak. I just love them, short, long, simple, complicated, I just freaking love jackets. I think next on the list would be pants, skirts and dresses just aren't my favorites, don't like showing off my cankles.

  3. Tanya it's hard for me to believe you have cankles and if you do rock them anyway.

  4. Right now I love making dresses....jackets are a little tricky for me...but if I could I would make a whole section of my closet just for jackets.

  5. My first love is knit tops. They add so much variety to existing wardrobe pieces. Second would be jackets.

  6. My favorite are tops and agree with Faye that they add variety to an existing wardrobe. Since its warmer I will focus on skirts.

  7. I use to sew many years ago, the other day i bought a very simple pattern to make my gchild a simple top and pair of shorts.....it's still laying there. i think i love the idea of sewing more than the actual doing. when i was growing up, my mama made all my clothes. i sooo enjoy your blog and seeing what you are making. hope you are continuing to do well. i had double mastectomy with reconstruction 5 years ago because of high risk factors, i know a little of what you are going through, with the exception of chemo/radiation. i did not have to take that. i send up little prayers for you when i read your blog.
