No, there hasn't be in a death in my family. Nor has a close friend died. So why do I think I'm in mourning? The color black. I have so much black in my closet including colors with black.
Lately everything I've wanted to sew...I've wanted to sew it in black. Even looking magazines or at blogs I'm always' thinking, "I'd love that in black!" Do I need counselling or something? Wearing black all the time is quite macabre and I'm way to old to do the "Goth thing." I'm not doing it to look "thinner." There's not enough black in the world for that to happen! LOL. There are three pieces of fabric laying on my sewing table that all include black. There's also the parts to a black sweater I'm knitting and the remnants of a black top I've just finished. There's even a black skirt laying over the arm of the chair I'm sitting in and I have on black pajama pants!
I want to make a couple of black dresses and I need some black slacks. Maybe it's just been the arrival of cold weather. Here in Michigan we do away with almost all of our bright and vibrant colors for the winter season. That's the only thing I can think of. So expect to see looks of black from me in future posts!
