Lots of sewing going on

I know I've been pretty quite lately but it's not because I haven't been sewing. As of my last post (8/23) I've finished four pairs of pants (Simplicity 1918), one peplum top (Vogue 8815), one tunic McCalls (6167) and a pair of leggings (McCalls) 6173. I'd say I'm on a roll. I still don't have pictures of me in any of my new wardrobe. I'm still nursing a broken toe and can't really wear shoes other than flip flops! I did manage to snap a picture to give you and idea of what I've been up to.

I tried to lighten the photo of the tunic but you know how hard it is to photograph black. The tunic was a little more labor intensive than I expected but it's perfect with the leggings. I think this fabric has been in my fabric for decades! The fabric was ripped on both ends and fabric stores haven't done that forever. It was also only 36" wide. Luckly I had four yards of it. When it's wet it feels like crepe.  I constructed the leggings entirely on the serger. The only changes I made were to add length to the back crotch as well as added a separate casing for the elastic. It took only about 30 minutes to construct so believe me there will be more of these in my future! The cotton knit is from my new BFF (if you send fabric you'll be my BFF too)  Shelia who sent it to me as a birthday gift. It was a wonderful surprise. I didn't blog about it, but one month ago I celebrated my 55th birthday! Yippeee!
