Slow boil

I cannot believe that I still have this doggone boil and it hurts like hell! When I did go to the doctor, he said that it wasn't ready to lance and probably wouldn't be untill Monday. Yikes! He did give me antibiotics for the boil and some Vicodin so that I can get some sleep. I am not a believer in old wives tails and  am not superstitious, but this boil has driven me over the edge and I have been reduced to using every hair-brained cure that is offered for relief. I've tried
  • membrane of an egg
  • egg white
  • alcohol
  • alcohol and Epsom salt
  • slice of tomatoe
  • skin of a white potatoe
  • piece of pork
  • damp tea bag
I've tried them all and the only thing I have to show for it are the ingredients for a good breakfast!

  1. I promise if you try the method I told you it would be gone. I get them all of the time.

  2. I forgot to mention that I did use the Walgreens brand of the Boil-Ease, and while it did make a small white spot on the boil, my doctor says the boil is still to hard and not ready yet...whatever that means.

  4. I can only imagine how painful and uncomforable the boil is. I have a remedy for you and this one has worked for me. If you can find something called soft grease. The Korean fruits and vegetables stands usually sell soft grease. It's a white wax that you soften, once it's soft put a large piece and cover the boil with gauze and tape. You leave it on for 2-3 days and it softens the boil. Vick vaporub also is effective in reducing and softening boils. You have to cover the boil with gauze and tape and re-apply as needed. Hope this help. Once more remedy did you try warm compress? That should help help relieve inflamation and encourage blood flow to the area to romote healing.

  10. I was going to suggest the pork (fat meat as we called it) but I see you already tried that. Seems like the epson salts would have worked.

Thank you for commenting about my coat. The suggestion you made about the sleeve sounds good. Now I need to get out the fitting books to find out just how to do it. Thanks, hope that thing comes to a head tonight!

  12. gracious, I'm sorry you are still suffering. My suggestion is to use hot moist compresses. I would put a washcloth in hot water, as hot as you can stand it, and hold it against the boil, and replace it after the washcloth cools. I'm glad that you saw the doctor. Those things can be painful. Good luck!
