Marketed as Amazing Fit, these slacks are just that...Amazing. When I started these slacks I did my usual 1 1/2" wedge to the center back but had to remove all of it.
The only change I had to make was to scoop out the back crotch curve a little and got this amazing fit. So inamored was I with the fit that I quickly got to JoAnn's and bought 2700, 2562 and an Amazing Fit skirt pattern 2475. The only thing I disliked about the pattern was the zipper application as I forgot to overlay the fly pattern piece on the slacks front so had to install the zipper per the instructions. Couldn't quite wrap my head around that and had to remover the zipper three times before I got it right. I didn't have the correct color zipper and since I didn't start them until midnight, had to use what I had on hand.
I omitted the belt carriers and lengthened the legs 1 1/2". I'm going to try them again in a black crepe. I want to make sure the amazing fit didn't happen by accident.
They look so flattering and beautifully constructed! I've been wondering about the amazing fit patterns. Did you use the curvy fit?
ReplyDeleteOk, I guess that means that I have to try that pattern too (lol)! I know I probably have it in stash already. Can you please describe the "scoop out the back crouch" procedure for me?
ReplyDeleteThose really do look amazing!! Your zipper looks good.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thoughts about that pattern. Your pants do look marvy. I have two of the Amazing Fit patterns, including the one you're wearing. After I finish my Hot Patterns jacket, I'll be working on pants, and will try that pattern. Nice sewing.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! I have one of these patterns, too. Looks like I need to push it forward ion my to-sew list!
ReplyDeleteAmazing indeed!! I have several of these patterns with fabrics and notions purchased. Now I can't wait to get these!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pants and they really do fit you well. I have got the Amazing Fit skirt pattern - I really must get around to making it up.
ReplyDeleteThose look fantastic!!!! I will definitely have to give these a try. Wonderful job.
