I fell short of finishing my jacket for January but I have a good reason. The jacket went together so easily and I like it so much that I decided I would go on and draft a lining after all.
I used the instructions from Claire Schafer's High Fashion Sewing Secrets as a reference and so far everything is coming out perfect.
The only thing left to do now is to attach the lining to the jacket. I probably won't get that done until the weekend unless I get snowed in tomorrow! At least give me an "A" for effort!
Looking good! Here's your "A"!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to add a lining.
ReplyDeleteA+ for effort. I am snowed in today!
ReplyDeleteNice jacket! I love the fabric and the coordinating stripped lining! No worries on not making the deadline---I'm in the same boat (smile)! As long as you have a jacket you're proud of then it's all good! Can't wait to see the finished masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteYour lapels already have a great roll line, they're going to look awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking jacket. You are right, "with good reason". The lining will make this smart number will complete the tailored look of it.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve an "A". That jacket looks so professional.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for recommending the High Fashion Sewing Secrets book. I'm returning to sewing after 30 years, but this time around I want to do things perfectly and not just get them finished double quick. It's hard to decide which books to get.
ReplyDeleteYour sewing is inspirational - thank you!
